Arkansas Racing Commission to Approve Electronic Gambling Machines

Electronic gambling machines are likely to be approved by the Arkansas Racing Commission.

The electronic gambling machines will be placed in the two racing tracks in Southland Greyhound Park at West Memphis and in Oaklawn Park Thoroughbred Racetrack at Hot Springs City.

With the passing of the new gambling regualations that allow the electronic gambling machines to be installed in race tracks will allow non stop betting which includes Christmas and Easter day.

Religious groups are expected to move against the new gambling policy.

Since November referendum elections of 2005, the electronic gambling machines were passed and legalized.

The referendum had shown that the people living in the area of the racetracks had supported the legalizing of electronic gambling machines.

The people have been waiting for the state law to be put in effect.

One thousand betting machines are expected to be added in the Arkansas race tracks.

According to Arkansas Racing Commission, they are not worried that the bettors might become addicted to betting and become problem gamblers.

The commission said that the non stop gambling would allow people to handle gambling bets from more people in the state than more betting from few people.

The additional gambling revenues would help the state.
